Tips for Photographing your Pets.....

Do try hard to take good photos It is worth the trouble.

The better your photo the easier it is for me to get an exact likeness

Try and get down on your knees and close to your pet and take pictures at eye level.Don't photograph your pet from above.

Photograph animals outside on a hazy or overcast day. This type of light is ideal, or take a picture inside near a door or window on a nice bright day. Have your back to the window and your pet facing towards the natural light .

I would like several close up shots of your pets face. If this is difficult don't worry , just try your best and I will crop it.

Please make sure that you mark which photo is the most accurate likeness of your pet, including the eyes. You may need to mark more than one photo, one for the eyes and one for the coat. It is better if you don't take the photos using a flash, it tends to change the colour .

The eyes are the most important part of the animal and can make or break a painting, so it is REALLY important that I get a clear photo of them... If the photo that you really want done is not so clear with the eyes just include others that are.

If you want two or more animals in the painting they don't need to be photographed together, I can take care of that...

Above are samples of both good and bad photos....

As soon as you are ready to order, Email me your best photos, remembering to mark which photo is the closest to the true colour of your pet.

I will crop them an try various different coloured backgrounds, i will then Email them to you and you can decide which you like best. I prefer a plain coloured background , it brings out the image of your pet and goes well with the modern style of home as well as the more traditional style.

Once you have decided on the colour and cropping I will go ahead and start the painting.

I have an absolute guarantee that if you are not happy with the painting for any reason and I can’t fix it, you are under no obligation to buy it.

Once I have almost finished the painting I will Email you an image for your approval. At this point you can ask for any changes.

After you have approved of the painting I will finish it and ask you to send me the full amount, including shipping and I will send you the painting….
